Service.Subtitles.OpenSubtitles (Not Official)

Get subtitles for the languages you select, without unwanted languages.

This is an extension of the existing addon that displays one selected language at the top.

Normally we dont need all the subtitles languages on the the list. I will never ever download a swedish subtitle because I wouldnt understand a word.

With this addon you can select up to three languages to display, so we get only the languages you really want. Simple and quick

Installation
- Download the 5star repo

Wrong subtitles load every time

For the last week or so the local subtitles that load are the same regardless of the film, show or episode, I am actually watching. I have figured out which show the subtitles belong to, although not the episode. The problem has been there for the last two builds (currently using 17.6). I can download new subtitles from opensubtitles or subscene to override the wrong ones but it would be nice to get the wrong ones "unstuck".

All tips appreciated.

opensubtitles.org no longer working - Tried everything i think?

Hi Guys

I simply CAN NOT get my preferred subtitles addon opensubtitles.org to work anymore... 

1: I have been registered at their site for a long time, but using the official add-on (5.0.0.16) keeps telling me that the user/pass is wrong.
2: Tried uninstalling and installing official add-on again without any luck.
3: Tried creating a new user with a new password to use with the official add-on without any luck
4: Tried downgrading the official add-on to 5.0.0.14 without any luck
5: Installed the unofficial (5.2.14?) version from various threads and ran it without credentials without any luck
6: Tried using both mu profiles/accounts with the unofficial version, but also without any luck.
7: Have been testing this on Kodi 17.6 on three different machines (iMac, small OpenELEC machine and a nVidia Shield TV) without any luck.

Is the simply no way to use opensubtitles.org with Kodi anymore?

Sometimes subtitiles are disabled

I have noticed that in at least one folder with a TV series which include subtitles, when I start an episode, the  subtitle is always disabled, so each time I have to manually enable it. But on almost all all other shows/movies subtitles are enabled on start. Any idea on why or how to force subtitles to always be enabled?

[SUBSCENE.COM] Addon shows "No subtitles found"

Hello all,

Subscene addon has been showing "No subtitles found" for quite some time.
More than 6 months... can't really recall exactly when stopped.
Likely after an update.

At the same time bsplayer subtitles addon works fine.

Platform:
Linux kodi-pc 3.16.0-38-generic #52~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri May 8 09:43:57 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
KODI-v17.6
Python 2.7.6 (python_2.7.5-5ubuntu3_amd64)

Tried python 2.7.9 and 2.7.14 - bunch of addons showed errors at kodi startup, reverted to original distro python version.

Please help.

Saving adjusted subtitle

Is it possible somehow to save adjusted subtitles. I mean that you download subtitle which is not sync with video and then if you could adjust correct timings and save it

v18 - PGS subtitle support and forced subtitles from PGS or online?

Hi all - A couple questions about subtitles and forced subtitles please:

1- I have a MKV with HDMV PGS subtitles, one of which is forced. How can I tell Kodi to play subtitles from the MKV itself? When I turn subtitles on Kodi appears to be getting these from online such as opensubtitle? Is there a way to enable subtitles so that they come from the MKV steam itself (from the PGS) instead, and cycle through the options? If so, can you please explain how?

2- I don't really mind using opensubtitles instead of PGS, but here is the issue I need to solve....... I need to have a forced subtitles only playback option. Is there a way to do this? For instance I watched a title that had several scenes with foreign language. With subtitles turned off (from the playback OSD for example) I had no subtitles at all, during the English scenes or foreign scenes. When I turned subtitles on, then I had subtitles all the time, both during English and foreign scenes.  What I want of course is no subtitles during the English scenes, and only subtitles during the foreign language scenes. I would think that the subtitle services may have an option for that, but did not see any such setting in Kodi. By the way I am using Kodi v18 latest nightly with whatever built-in subtitle options are provided in the vanilla installation - I have not downloaded any subtitle services or such.

3- When using subtitles for foreign language scenes is there a way to get the translation only without the descriptions of sounds? For instance I want to know what they are saying, but do not want to see things like "(birds chirping)" and "(music playing)".

24.997 vs 25 vs 30 fps subtitle mis-sync

Hey gang,

No matter how I aquire subtitles (opensubtitles or other sources), I find that over 50% of the are correct, can be synced, but after a duration of play becomes mis-synced. I strongly believe this is due to a time syncing issue as the mis-sync always happens in the same direction. By the end of the video (20m), the subtitle is about 3 minutes off. Which lines up about right.

So other than "get a better subtitle source", are there options, plugins or configurations for forcing a time sync with the subtitles?

Launching Subtitles Automatically

Using my Firestick I have Subtitles launching immediately a film starts. Unfortunately I cannot remember how I achieved this.
I have installed Kodi on a laptop and would like the same. I have configured the app to show subs and have entered my username and password from previous registration and all works well
Just need the auto launch if anyone can help - please

mp4 file stop display subs after few seconds

Dear all, 
I just registered to the forum, so please forgive me if I am asking something stupid.
I checked a lot of threads but I can't find my specific issue.
I have a cubox-i4-pro and it works perfectly fine, but recently I have noticed that specifically mp4 files stop display subs after few seconds.
Mkv as well as avi files don't have any issue.
Since the rest works, I don't understand what should be wrong.
As always, I use opensubtitle addon to look for subs. I download them automatically, they start displaying but then "puff" after few seconds they disappear.
Turning on/off the service doesn't change anything. Download new ones cause them to be display again but only for 5 second, at the end they continue to disappear.
I checked two different Kodi version, 16 and 17, same result.

Please let me know if there's a quick solution.

Why, suddenly, all my subtitles services are giving error asking to check log (i don't know how to do that and how that can help me)?

This way i can't use and see nothing with subtitles. Any ideas?

Two weeks ago everything was running smoothly.

Hello, hope someone can help. I have searched but can’t seem to find an answer for something so trivial and i can only assume i am not seeing it.

I use smart playlists with the aeon nox skin and everything has been set up exactly how I want it to be. In the skin customization menu for Kids movies, i have set background to pull from the kids movies playlist and it displays correctly but it displays alphabetically. However i want the backgrounds to display randomly.
As i understand it, the  Random and Last items script should make this happen. I have since installed via zip but i have no idea where it's installed and how it should work

Any ideas please?

v17 - Two languages as subtitles?

I remember a time - possible even during XBMC - where I could choose the subtitle to suggest subs from TWO languages that I could set in settings.

Has not been such a big deal since - since I mostly watch with English subs anyway.

But recently, there have surfaced a need to also get Swedish subs (due to kids in that age being able to read it now). But I cannot find any setting in either the system or the subtitle-services to enable this.

Am I just missing something or is it not supported by default any longer?

And if not - is there a way to enable it by extra service or something like that?

I don't know if this page is a rip off of opensubtitles.org, or is it the same site with another domain name? It is possible to adapt the OpenSubtitles.org addon to work with this site instead? OpenSubtitles.org is blocked in Norway.

Spanish subtitles wont work

Hello to everyone, my problem is with the spanish subtitles, have few weeks having this issue, argenteam wont work, no even searching, subdivx search finds but wont download, searching subtitles on english work on opensubtitle, kodi version : 17.1 please if you know whats happening withs spanish subtitle (argenteam, subdivx) help me... thanks to everyone

Downloaded subtitles have empty permission

I have trouble with loading and displaying subtitles with Kodi and the subtitle plugins (opensubtitles, subscene, podnapsi, etc). I have a x86 HTPC and a Raspberri Pi, media is stored on a FreeNAS share.

The subtitles seem to be downloaded (they can be opened on my Windows machine), but i have a feeling the permissions are messed up and they wont be displayed on Kodi. All my media is downloaded by Couchpotato and Sonarr, and i believe they have messed up something with the permissions.

I see some "permission denied" errors when opening the subtitles. This is how the permissions look on my NAS: https://pastebin.com/s4tQcGmH. The last 6 line show how the permissions of a newly downloaded subtitle (by the Kodi Subtitle addon).

So, my new subtitles downloaded with the Kodi addons have an empty permission. How can i fix this?

No subtitle-services are working as they should

All of a sudden all I get is a "failed download" when trying to get hold of a subtitle. It worked until i tried (and failed) to install samba-services for kubuntu. Don´t know if this is related though. I have tried with a number of services but the same problem persists. Now, I am very new to linux and this is my first attempt at setting up a linux-htpc and I wonder of there´s anyone who could take the time and have a look at my log and point me in the right direction?
