Hi, in the past I didn't need to subscribe to a Subtitle service. Seems like Kodi was doing it automatically in the past and it worked great. Perfectly in sync.
But after unable to "enable" subtitles as before, I found out I needed to subscribe and add an Subtitle Service. I heard that OpenSubtitles.org was one of the best. So I went and registered for the service and configured Kodi to use it. I also enabled a Automatic Subtitle starter add-on by Kodi which automatically starts the subtitles on all of my Television recordings.
But I have one major and a couple of minor problems with Kodi Subtitles enabled.
1) The worst problem is once the subtitle in Opensubtitles.org is downloaded for a recorded TV show it starts the subtitles before the actual show starts. It starts showing the TV Shows Subtitles as soon as the recording is started and playing a commercial. Thus the subtitles are out of sync by more than a minute or two. Trying to use Kodi to correctly sync the Subtitles is very time consuming and frustrating. I basically end up missing a lot of the recorded show trying to sync the subtitles which is almost impossible at times. By the way, I have all recorded shows as "default" to start one minute before and end one minute after the show ends to insure I get the full recorded program.
2) I have "Enabled" several Kodi Subtitle add-ons. The ones that doesn't require a registration don't work. The only one that actually works, half ass, is OpenSubtitles.org.
3) Sometimes, Kodi says that I need to input OpenSubtitles.org Log in information for the Plug-in. When I go to "Configuration" to see if my log in information is missing or incorrect, I find that it is properly populated with the correct Log in information. So basically, Kodi misreads the Log in information believing it is missing or incorrect when in actuality it isn't.
I not sure if these bugs are due to Kodi or the subtitle service or both.
