Removing a subtitle source after installed?

Hello all...

I have searched everywhere but cannot find a way to remove a subtitle once it has been added to the list in Kodi available sources for external subtitles.

There is a particular one that is always causing the machine to hang and I would like to remove it as simply as possible. The source is called "subcentral.de"

Any one know of a way to get this off my machine without major overhaul? I'm still using Isengard 15.2 on OE 6.0.3

Thanks in advance

Pete

Arabic Subtitle To be read without Changing the whole Interface to Arabic

Hello All,

I am facing an issue with unread characters in Arabic subtitles. After several tries to solve it I end up with a solution where i should change the whole user interface language to Arabic, then the subtitles revealed properly with a normal Arabic characters.

My question is how i can keep the English language in user interface and remain on the Arabic subtitle to be properly shown, without changing the whole user interface into Arabic.

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

Subtitles not showing up pt2

As per this previous thread my subtitles have stopped working:
http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=187645
I have been using subtitles for the last 12-14months without any issues until now.

As described in that thread I can find the subtitles using "Subscene, Opensubtitles, etc." but they will not populate as they used to, that is I can see they are enabled in the menu and look like they are present but they just do not display.
- this same issue happened two days ago and I uninstalled Kodi and then bought my favorites over from another PC and reinstalled Kodi again and it worked for a couple of days.

I have a hearing impairment and subtitles are important for me (or else I turn things up ridiculously loud and upset the neighbors) so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Debug log:

line 723 is the first error I noted.

Hello

As the title says i am unable to download subtitles from subtitles.gr.
Its the only source that doesn't work since i can use opensubtitles.org without a problem.
The error message i am getting is "Failed to download subtitle"
I tried creating a new folder inside my downloads folder in C and i directed the subtitles to go there but it didn't fix the problem.
This error occures on every movie or series i am trying to watch.

Is there anything i can do to fix it?

Thanks in advance

Subtitles not displaying on Kodi on Android TV

I have just bought a Sony Android TV, and installed the Kodi app. Everything is working fine with playing movies and all, but I have one problem and that is that the files that have srt or any other formatted embedded subtitles are not playing the subs. Not only that, the skin that is playing the movie does not have an option to turn of or on subtitles or even to select them.

Can anyone assist me on how I can resolve this? I only bought the TV yesterday and installed the app, so I'm assuming it is the latest version.

subtitle toggle during video playback

Apologies ahead of time if this has been covered.

I have searched and searched and not found any answers. If I am violating any rules, please let me know. I'll refrain from naming specific builds, so instead I'll just refer to the skins being used. I run Kodi with a specific build that uses Xonfluence for the skin. When watching a TV show or movie, I can pull up the bar that shows play/stop/ff/rw and also for subtitles. When I scroll to subtitles, a small popup shows and I can quickly enable or disable subtitles. Not talking about downloading subtitles, just a blue button that I can turn on/off. Now, here's the tricky part, on a different program that is a "fork" of Kodi, (I'm trying not to offend anyone or get banned Angel ) running a certain build that uses Mimic as a skin, the quick subtitle enabling popup isn't there. My question is this: is this a skin issue or is this because of the Kodi vs. Fork difference? Without running the same skin on both versions to test it, my thoughts are leaning towards the latter.

Again, no offence to anyone by my question. I'm really new at this, trying to absorb as much info as possible and learn. My frustration is when watching a specific program that has certain characters speaking in a made up language and that dialog isn't hardcoded into the video with subtitles, I'd like to be able to toggle on/off what they are saying without having to have subtitles on through the entire thing.

Thread: Kodi(Jarvis) and subtitles OpenATV 5.3

Hi All,
It's my first post here, and I am sending you a big Hello and my best wishes.

Now the problemSmile

I am using OATV 5.3 with Kodi 16.1(Thanks Master G for the backup) in my VU+ Solo 4K.
Everything is fine except for the subtitles.

My specific problem is that Kodi doesn't launch Mediaplayer2 (that supports downloading of subtitles).
Also, it doesn't launch it's internal player(that also supports subtitles).

The media player which is launched by default is a very limited one in functionalities. Never seen it before.

My question is: can I set the player to be the internal or Mediaplayer2 for all streams?
The strangest thing is that for some live tv it starts the internal kodi player,
and for some VOD it starts Mediaplayer2, but the number is very limited.

For almost all services it starts a strange player that has almost no added functionality.

Hello,
I purchased a GooBang Doo M8S TV Box Amlogic S812 Quad Core (Fully loaded Add-ons and KODI XBMC), and recently upgraded from KODI v.15 to v.16, but now when I try to watch a movie (mostly on PrimeWire (1Channel)) for subtitle selection I always receive the message "No subtitles services installed". IN v.15 I was getting the subtitles. How do I install these services?

Can you please help with this issue.

Thanks a lot,

How to "read" SRT files in Kodi?

$

Hi there, this might be un ultra stupid question, but I cannot get Kodi to read the SRT files. Streaming (ie through the add-ons everything works great). I however have a number of MKV files where I have the subtitles for locally. They are in the same folder and have the exact same name, so:
\FOLDER\01.Moviename - film.mkv
\FOLDER\01.Moviename - film-srt

In the system settings section of Kodi I have the location of subtitles marked as "same as movie".

If I play the MKV file I still only get the subtitles embedded in the MKV file. I cannot find out how to access the srt file corresponding to the movie.

Can anybody point me to the solution?

Thanks in advance!

Arnoud (NL)

PS, forgot to add: when I test the movie on my computer with VLC the subtitles automatically are found and displayed!

I have side-loaded Installed Kodi on AppleTV 4 (With out Jail Broken) seems to be working Fine.
Some other the Subtitle Plugins works fine too. but i am big fan of "Subsecene.com" but its unfortunate in TvOS subsecene don't seems to be working, i have tried to and load the downgraded version of Subsecene Subtitles 1.7.0 (Current is 1.7.1) but neither current version neither the downgraded version work.
I mean they do get installed but when searching for certain move subtitles the search results are "Zero" i have again "Factory Rest the ATV4 and second time tried to use the subsecene but no luck.

Any one have ideas why it could be happening.

NB:- I have used the Kodi Deb for TvOS latest version normally available on github (Compiled on 22-May-2016)

3D Movies .srt subtitles positioned in the middle of the screen

$

I just upgraded to a new TV which supports passive 3D.
I have a few movies which are Side by Side 3D or Over/Under 3D.
When i download subtitles they are displayed twice so that when I set my TV to 3D both eyes see the subtitle.
However the positioning of the subtitles is completely wrong. They are right in the middle of the image and nothing I can do will change that.
I tried defining the subtitle position in video settings to bottom. Didn't work
I tried setting it to fixed and then moving it via the video calibration screen. Didn't work.
So at the moment I am stuck with the subtitles right in the middle of the screen instead of at the bottom as you would expect.
Am I doing anything wrong? I have set Kodi to the correct 3D mode and like I said it then double the subtitles it just doesn't display them in the right area
