Is there really no way to automaticly download subtitles?

Hello people,

I'm using kodi for years now, but there is one thing I cannot get solved. Maybe because there is no solution..? 

Let me explain..

In the ideal situtation, kodi downloads fully automaticly the best matching subtitle when the subtitle for my language (dutch) is not found for local and non-local media.

But it doesn't. I have to go mannualy to the subtitle section, press download, and than choose out a list of found subtitles.

Is there no way to make this proces easier? I have tried addons like autosubs, but it doenst do what i want.

I also enabled; download first found subtitle in kodi 18.1 but it is not working aswell. I have to mannually pick a subtitle out of the list.

Does anyone have suggestions?

v18 - Can i add multiple subtitles providers within same addon module ?

Hello,

I'm developing my own subtitle service addon. My goal is to enable it for various providers (opensubtitles, subscene etc.)
I've already developed my script for 1 provider, how can i add different provider within the same package ? So when I'm in video subtitle OSD, I can select which of my providers to use.

My addon structure looks like this:

service.subtitles.cyril
  addon.xml
  provider1.py
  resources folder (contains my lib scripts)

I want to add provider2.py, provider3.py etc.
But in the addon.xml, I only know how to add 1 subtitle service:

<addon id="service.subtitles.cyril"

       name="Cyril"

       version="1.1.0"

       provider-name="cyriltra">

  <extension point="xbmc.subtitle.module" library="provider1.py" />

</addon>

I don't want to have multiple addon module because it will duplicate my code and will be hard to maintain (ex: service.subtitles.cyril, service.subtitles.cyril2, service.subtitles.cyril3 etc.)

Subscene and Opensubtitles (Can't find any subtitles)

Hi.

I'm running Kodi on my Nvidia Shield in my livingroom. Currently running the most stable build from the android store (Kodi Leia 18.1 I believe). I also have Kodi running 18.1 in my bedroom on a Raspberry Pi on LibreELEC, and here I have the same problem.

Recently I've been unable to find any subtitles when using subscene (My main subtitles addon), and after being annoyed with that, I tried starting using Opensubtitles. But even here I found myself unable to find any subtitles (however due to different reasons).

Subscene:
When I opened the subtitles menu it used to show subtitles almost instantly. Now it returns with "unable to find any subtitles".

Opensubtitles:
Returns with "wrong login information" or something alike.

Am I the only one with trouble connecting to either subtitle services? I am very able to log on to both services using either my desktop, laptop and even phone. I managed to download a few subtitles manually and deploying them on my media server to view them along with my videos, but that gets tedious in the long run.

I will get my hands on some logs, but foremost I was wondering if I am the only one reporting this problem..?

Aorry guys for bring this up..i am new here

I have problem with my kodi jarvis 16.1

Previously i manage to update addon from this

And then is got error again

Subsene error check the log.

Why as Kodi 18 lost the subtitle control in Audio Settings, yes I found how to turn subtitles off but there are times I would want to turn subs back on and doing this by using System/Language is just to long winded.

Kodi 17.4 Issue with open subtitles

Hi there, 
I am running kodi 17.4 on android box and having issues with open subtitles. It will not show any returns on searching for any tv shows or movies.
When I do a manual search it appears to work but this is a pain and it did used to work on auto search.
Is there a fix for this that any one knows of? I am registered with open subtitiles and addon settings shows I am logged in correctly.
Please help.

Opensubtitles Error Downloading

Hey everyone, ty in advance to whoever find some time to reply me. I am using Kodi some years now, gratz for your work. I am using it along with Emby, mainly because to be able to sync in what episode i am or what movie i have seen if i choose to see the file via my computer (windows) = my bedroom or the living room on my tv there (on the tv i use Android player)

Anyway, the last days, i am facing a problem with opensubtitles. It doesn't download the subs from there and produce error. I have created a new log this morning and have pasted the log here: dohukuhedi.kodi (paste)

I can't understand what is the problem, i went up to \AppData\Roaming\Kodi\userdata\addon_data\service.subtitles.opensubtitles\temp and the zip there it's damaged. I tried delete it and retry, and again a damaged zip produced. I have put username / password in the configuration.

If i can answer anything else to help tell me, thank you for your help and your time!

How to get subtitles working on Kodi - Amazon Firestick

Hi 
I've an account with subtitles.org which I have downloaded and activated via kodi repository.
I have then logged in using username / password 
I have then gone to settings / player / language and set up the following 
Downoad Services
Subtitles - English
Subtitles storage location - next to video
default tv - subtitles.org
default movie - subtitles.org

Then when i go to any movie or tv show and try to load any subtitles nothing is showing - I don't receive any option for subtitles to be able to use any
Please can anyone help me figure out how to get subtitles to work for the Amazon Firestick 
I am using Kodi 18.2 Leia Build

v17 - How to have .srt language specific selected by default ?

Hi, v17.6 here

I have videos with inside their directory subtitles with two different languages:

Code:
name.el.srt
name.en.srt

Now when i play the video always it displays the .en.srt or the just .srt subtitle as default. What i want is to FIRST have display the .el.srt and if it not there/available then fall back to the .srt file.

I have change the settings=>media=>subtitles as default the "Greek" but i think this applies to the DVD player and not video files.

Any help ?

Broken - Opensubtitles not working without reason

Hi guys!
I wasn't able to download subtitles for anything even manually in Kodi (LibreELEC) with OpenSubtitles (this means a lot, Czech is only on here and a little on BSplayer).
I saw that OpenSubtitles made a new website with redirect button on the old one (OpenSubtitles ORG....changed to COM...+some UI etc..) so maybe they changed coding or how the engine is searching and the add-on is not updated.
Yesterday it was working properly...

Do you know where to get the add-on so I could maybe fix it myself? Or who to contact for an update?

Opensubtitles not working

Hi - is anyone having a problem with the Opensubtitles addon for Kodi? I last successfully downloaded subtitles probably a couple of days ago. The official add on says that username/pass is not correct (I've tripled checked and can log-in through the website fine), it spits out the same user/pass error on all my boxes that run Kodi.

Subtitles custom saving location.

Hi there, is there no way to make Kodi save subtitles in a folder called subs with in the season folder instead of having them 
saved next to the video file or one massive sub folder?

Also when watching a show and the subs are in their own subs folder I always
have to manually search for them to activate them.

Using libreelec and shows have their own folder and video files are stored in their season folder with in the shows folder.

v18 - GUI language overrides preferred subtitle language

When GUI language is set to english and preferred subtitle language to Greek the subtitle language is english
when GUI language is set to Greek and preferred subtitle language to Greek the subtitle language is Greek
I am referring to internal subtitles only, external are working ok
Is that normal behavior?

v18 - Can't make 'show subtitles' as default

Hi,

Although I had ticked and saved "make this settings as default..." while "show subtitles" is illuminated
each time I'm starting to play a video subs won't show (embedded or by the video) and I need to go into the sub settings
to illuminate the option again.
I have tried several skins and even full uninstall - including the user data - but nothing have changed.
Any Ideas?
Is there a value that can be added to the "advancedsettings.xml" that will force subs to show as a default?

Subtitle files not named as reference video files

Hi,

I use opensubtitles and get the subtitles downloaded to a specific folder (not folder of video files). The names of the subtitles are only containing digits, which makes it a bit difficult when i look into the download folder later on to see what i have there. Ideally I'd like the downloaded subtitle files to get the same names as the video files they are supposed to match with, is there a way to do so?
